About

Growing up in New York, and Florida, I had many great memories of tinkering in the garage with my dad making and modifying things.  Later, in my senior year in high school, I was exposed to metalworking and was fascinated but never actually pursued it.

Fast forward a couple of decades past college, then a long career in finance and banking, I felt the urge to work with my hands again.  I became increasingly uneasy wearing a suit, sitting in an office, and moving numbers around. It was then, that I started working with leather, and found myself making more and more.  The transition came in 2011 when I make the full jump to working for myself and making things for a living full time.

In 2016, a good friend came into my shop and mentioned that I should learn to make knives.  Steel and tools were ordered shortly after, but pretty much collected dust until early 2017, when I decided to finally get on the grind and fulfill my urge to work with metal.

These days, nothing makes me happier than bringing an idea or image from my head, into a tangible product that I can hold in my hand.  The materials I use these days are high carbon and stainless steels mated with both composites and exotic woods.  I post my work here and on my Instagram (http://instagram.com/edwardrknives) as it's completed.  Feel free to contact me to commission a custom build.
